We will be fishing Sat and Sun 2/18-19th returning mid morning 2/20-President's Day. This is a Limited Load 2.5 Day San Martin/Mexican Coast Freelance trip with an early departure of 5PM Friday 2/17.

A great way to take advantage of the holiday weekend this trip will fish the Mexican Coast targeting early season Yellowtail, as well as mixed bag fishing from shallow water sheephead and bass, to deep water rockfish/lincod to fill up the freezer. Bill " Hurricane" Goodwin puts on a chunking clinic landing Tuna after Tuna on the chunk rig and would like to give a shout out to our good friend Dick Stokes," We missed you Dick." The morning action was best again before the current changed and left us no option but to look for more Wahoo. With the conditions not being very good we chose to leave early and fish our way home. Off To A Slow Start

All is well here aboard Royal Star as we roll back down on our latest voyage enjoying beautiful weather. We have one more day of travel before getting to the grounds that will be spent on final rigging preparations and trying to control our anxiety in anticipation of the unknown ahead. All aboard got to witness a stellar catch unloaded from Tim's last trip so hopes that we will get in on more of the same are high.  Again this morning the bite started around 3:00 am with the first fish hooked on the chunk. The it was another, and another chunk fish hitting the deck, and just before daylight the kite began to hook some good Tuna. It was a steady early morning bite, but unlike yesterdays all day bite of 89 Tuna and 30 Wahoo , today they shut down and vanished around 8:00 am. It was clear it would be a different day, which has been the theme on this trip with changing current and conditions on a regular basis. So we began our search for more Wahoo and found some fun action on the skinny's to round out the day. "The Intrepid Team"
